love the way it switches up halfway through, It's like I'm getting 2 songs for the price of 1.

excellent

Fantastic as always. You have a real skill for this kind of music. It all sounds very polished and professional. All of your trademarks (peaceful yet lively synth, sweeping filters, ect.) are here and put to good use in every instance. Great work.

But you know what I would really love though? I want to see you step out of your comfort zone. You have progressive house/trance down to a science. I always wonder how you would tackled a different genre. I think it would be amazing to see what you could do on a DnB track.

fairly badass

wow, this is really something. There are some really cheap and goofy sounds in here but you somehow you managed to make the most out of them and turn it into pure gold. I'm amazed. I love at 0:40 how it breaks down and just gives you the beat as a transition to the next part of the song. And then at 0:48 when when the bass drum does it's choppy thing; so incredible. This is really good.

nice remaster

nice improvement. Snare fits in much better than in the last version of this track. I especially like how it plays for a longer duration of the song. That make sit feel like it actually belongs there and it's not a last minute addition. It also give the backbone of the song a little more energy. I have to say though, It's still feels a wee bit out of place.

Great. You have such a good ear for smoothness and filter pacing. You combine things in a way that gives off a feeling of relaxation and mellowness. Because of the softness of the track, I feel that the snare comes in a little harshly at 1:38. However, the sound does fit, it's not out of places one you let it play for a few beat.
Great track.

I felt similarly and fixed it in the upcoming full release. I'll message you, but look for it here and on my bandcamp :D

excellent

wow, I'm loving this. I always thought that game had a really good soundtrack, and you've done it pretty well in your own version. What was that wolf sound at 1:12. Nice touch.

reminds me of earthbound.

weird, sounds like aliens are landing. This would be excellent background noise for the appropriate setting. It sets a sci-fi mood very well. Good job on this one.

This is one that I tried to make into a much longer track but I couldn't figure out where to go with it. So I cut it down and just accepted it as just a weird little piece of audio. Glad you enjoyed it though

Thanks for the review!

cool.

cool. This is great thinking music. I could easily see this in some sort of puzzle game. I appreciate the subtlety of the track, but at the same time, I wish there were a few more layers that made it feel like the song was making some sort of progress.

at around 1:49, when that new sounds comes in is a great moment. Thats the kind of layer that takes this song to a different place. Really nice touch.

treyhaur responds:

Thanks for the kind words.
I do believe that this track could benefit from a melody, even if it were a subtle one.
I didn't really think of it that way but you have a point, it does sound like sound puzzle game music.

Thanks for reviewing!

cool

Pretty neat. I never played Ninja Gaiden, so I don't really know how close this is to the original or how much you have changed. What I do know is that the sounds that you have here work well together. It sounds nice, However, I do wish that it went a little further. It sounds like a quick loop, and it's good for what it is.

8/10. 5/5.

treyhaur responds:

Well, I was going to leave the previous version I made up but I couldn't stand the bass sound I used (it sounded kind of of "muddied" and didn't have the smooth tone the new one had. I should have reposted it as a loop but it seemed a little long for that.

Thanks for the review!

P.S. You have gotta play the Ninja Gaiden for the NES, it's a classic little piece of sidescrolling history

This is great. There are so many good elements here. Great beat, excellent variety of sounds, and the whole thing just has a great vibe. I love at 2:35 when everything drops out and it comes back with that lead sound doubled up. It sounds very complex but at the same time it doesn't overcrowd the rest of the song.

I've got to say though, most of the song doesn't sound like Drum and Bass, but whatever.

ganon95 responds:

glad u like it =]

honestly, 2:35 is my fav part of this song, it actually doesn't double up all i did was add a delay to it after the drop off.

im kinda on the edge about the genre, i think it fits in drum n bass. but it could technically be other genres. this is pretty much a mix of like 3 genres

Now Tayne I can get into!
